Rocco is a ring-necked pheasant who lives somewhere near my sister's house in Nova Scotia. He shows up every now and then to hang out in the yard like he owns the place. We are not 100% sure it is always the same pheasant, or if there are a few of them taking turns. They are all Rocco now.

A good sticker for bird nerds, for anyone with a yard full of uninvited wildlife, or for the notebook of a friend who is bolder than they have any right to be.

I'm Catherine Hébert, an artist based in Montréal. I've spent almost two decades in visual effects, working on films and TV as a concept artist and eventually a VFX supervisor. But I never stopped illustrating, so I started The Ugly Cat Studio to share the work I actually want to make.
