Brünnhilde started life as a 1936 photograph by Adolph Edward Weidhaas of a plucky tabby dressed up as the Valkyrie heroine from Wagner's Ring Cycle. The black and white photo has been floating around the internet for years, and I finally gave it the full colour treatment it deserved.
Every detail from the photo is there, from the fierce sideways stare to the slightly unimpressed expression. Now she also has golden scale mail, a deep red cape over one shoulder and a plumed helm against a rich green background. She looks ready to storm Valhalla or knock your water glass off the table. Probably both.
Send her to a cat person who needs a reminder to stay fierce, mail her to a stranger across the world through Postcrossing (a site that matches postcard pen pals!), or stick her on the fridge where she can keep everyone in line.
The postcards are 4"x6" and printed on thick 18pt Mohawk Superfine, an uncoated paper with a smooth matte finish and a subtle texture. The front brings out rich colors and crisp details, while the uncoated back is easy to write on, so it's ready for a quick note to someone you love (or someone you just want to make laugh!).
Mohawk Superfine is acid-free, archival, and FSC® certified.
