Rocco is a ring-necked pheasant who hangs out near my sister's house in Nova Scotia (she's @bleumariepottery on Instagram, go say hi!). Every now and then he shows up in the yard and struts around like he owns the place. It might not always be the same pheasant, but they're all Rocco to us.

Pheasants aren't actually native to Canada. They were brought over ages ago and never left, and now they wander through fields and backyards all over Nova Scotia like they've always been there. I couldn't resist that red face and the shiny green neck!

Send Rocco to a fellow bird lover, mail him to a random stranger across the world through Postcrossing (a site that matches postcard pen pals!), or tuck him into a little frame on your shelf.

The postcards are 4"x6" and printed on thick 18pt Mohawk Superfine, an uncoated paper with a smooth matte finish and a subtle texture. The front brings out rich colors and crisp details, while the uncoated back is easy to write on, so it's ready for a quick note to someone you love (or someone you just want to make laugh!).

Mohawk Superfine is FSC® certified.

ABOUT ME

I'm Catherine Hébert, an artist based in Montréal. I've spent almost two decades in visual effects, working on films and TV as a concept artist and eventually a VFX supervisor. But I never stopped illustrating, so I started The Ugly Cat Studio to share the work I actually want to make.
