I painted this one during #Inktober 2025. If you're not familiar, it's when you get a new drawing prompt each day in October, and are supposed to do an ink illustration based on that prompt. I don't do ink, but I participate anyways!
There's no specific deer behind this one, unlike some of my other animal paintings. No backstory, no drama!
(The only actual drama here was discovering that I had to rework the painting somewhat for printing: the dark colours in the original verison didn't translate well to the page, so I pivoted to a little brighter green background with foliage.)
My favourite part of this one is the little whiskers and tufts of hair on his chin and below his ears!
