The Ugly Cat's Artwork

What is "giclée printing"?

Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) is a fancy way of saying “really high-quality printing.” It’s a process that uses advanced inkjet printers to create super-detailed, vibrant reproductions of artwork. The inks are pigment-based and combined with archival-quality materials like fine art paper or canvas, so the prints are made to last—no fading or yellowing for decades.

Artists and photographers love giclée printing because it captures every little detail and color just like the original. If you’re looking for a museum-quality print that’s as close to the real thing as it gets, giclée is the way to go!

What do you mean by "archival paper"?

Museum-quality archival paper is a type of paper designed to last for decades, if not centuries, without deteriorating. It’s made to meet the high standards required for preserving artwork, photographs, and important documents.

Here’s what makes it special:

  1. Acid-Free: Unlike regular paper, archival paper is free of acids and other chemicals that can cause yellowing, brittleness, or fading over time.
  2. Lignin-Free: Lignin, a natural compound found in wood pulp, can also lead to discoloration and decay. Museum-quality paper removes this for added longevity.
  3. Durability: It’s made to withstand handling, light exposure, and environmental changes better than standard paper.
  4. Texture and Appearance: This paper often has a luxurious, fine texture that enhances the richness and detail of prints, making it ideal for displaying artwork or photos.

When paired with high-quality inks, museum-quality archival paper ensures your prints look stunning and remain in great condition for generations. It’s the same standard used by museums and galleries to showcase and preserve valuable pieces.

Is all your artwork original?

Every piece of art you see here is 100% original and created by Catherine Hébert. There’s no AI involved—just Catherine’s own imagination, skill, and vision. Each artwork is thoughtfully crafted, with every detail reflecting her unique artistic style and personal touch.

We believe in the value of true, original art. When you choose a piece from us, you're not just getting a print; you're getting something that’s been carefully created by an artist who puts real thought and care into every piece. It’s all about supporting creativity that comes from a genuine, human source.
