Our greeting cards are printed on sturdy, matte-finish stock that balances color, texture, and writeability—here's how we landed on the perfect paper.
First Impressions Matter 👋
When we started designing greeting cards, we wanted them to feel good the moment you picked one up—sturdy, tactile, and made for writing in. Not just pretty to look at—something that actually feels intentional, like it belongs in your hand, not just on your fridge.
What We Didn't Want 🙅♀️
We tested a bunch of options, and frankly, most of them didn’t cut it. Some were too glossy—great for photo labs, but not for my art. My illustrations often rely on subtle texture, soft shading, or fine detail, and glossy stock made them look overly slick and artificial. The high-gloss felt like a mismatch!
Others were flimsy—more like office copy paper than something you'd actually be proud to send to someone. A few looked fine but had weird coatings that made ink smear or skip if you weren’t using a ballpoint pen.
And some had fold lines that weren’t centered properly. When the card was folded, the front and back didn’t line up—making even the nicest designs look a bit sloppy right out of the package!
What We Landed On ✅
Eventually, we found what we were looking for: a 15pt stock with a sandy matte finish. It struck the right balance between print quality and personality. The front of each card has just the right amount of texture to bring out rich colors and crisp details. Whether it's a soft gradient, a vibrant palette, or subtle texture, the paper handles it beautifully without looking shiny or plasticky.

Designed for Writing 🖊️
Inside, the card is uncoated—meaning it’s totally smooth and pen-friendly. You won’t get that frustrating smear or drag you sometimes feel on coated papers. It’s perfect for your heartfelt message, a cheeky joke, or a passive-aggressive holiday note (no judgment).
Classic, Flexible Format 📏
The format is a classic: 5"x7" when folded, or 10"x7" flat. We chose that size because it’s substantial enough to feel like a little art print, but still fits in a standard A7 envelope. We also pair each card with a crisp, white envelope made from 100% recycled paper—simple, clean, and better for the planet. (Want more behind-the-scenes?
